Below are some detailed case studies of emergency plumbing work we have carried out in Whitchurch:
What the problem was: Water is leaking from Ms Summers boiler, she has woke up this morning to a puddle of water on the worktop and floor. There is currently a bowl underneath and it’s filling up quickly.
What we did: Leaks to gas boiler repairs should only ever be attended to by a Gas Safe Registered engineer, all the YourRepair heating engineers carry their Gas Safe Registration card to assure the customer that they are qualified to be working on their gas appliances. Corrosion is the main cause of most boiler leaks, especially when boilers are older, the corrosion causes the pipes to the boiler to weaken and allow water to escape. This was the case with Ms Summers Worcester Bosch boiler, a valve had corroded and caused the leak, this was replaced by the gas safe engineer before he checked the boiler thoroughly to ensure there was no further corrosion, and that the boiler was safe and running efficiently.
Outcome: The customer is aware that the valve replacement is now covered by our 12 month guarantee. Customer has decided to take out YourCare, boiler and central heating care plan with us, so that if anything else goes wrong with the boiler in the future, she knows she is covered.
Client testimonial: Really fast in responding, the office staff were really helpful and the plumber got my boiler working again. I was very impressed with the service, so much so that I have taken out boiler cover with them, at least it’s one less thing to worry about now!!!
What the problem was: Customer has a leak under the sink, and water is now all over the kitchen floor. Looks like it is coming from between two components, one is some kind of valve and has a 'tap' of some kind and the other is a hose, which I think leads to the plastic pipe which drains the water. Customer doesn’t know how to stop the leak, and would like an emergency plumber.
What we provided: Our engineers are easily identifiable, as they attend jobs in full uniform, on arrival, the engineer also showed the customer his ID badge, so the customer was aware of who he was letting into his home. The first thing the engineer did once on site is to check that the water had been turned off correctly by the customer before diagnosing and commencing the repair. The pipe was to the customer’s dishwasher, and it had split. This needed replacing, which the plumber did, he also changed the washers on the connection to ensure that there would be no further leaks to the area. The engineer also advised the customer regarding Gas Safety whilst at his home, as he noticed that there were no CO2 detectors by the gas boiler, and the boiler was over 15 years old. The customer purchased a CO2 detector from us, and we installed it on the visit, so that he could ensure he kept his home and family safe from Carbon Dioxide poisoning. He is also keen for us to carry out his annual service when it is due in a few month’s time.
Outcome: The client didn’t incur any considerable damage to his property due to how fast we were able to arrive on site, the engineer advised a de-humidifier due to dry out the kitchen area as it was significantly wet. The customer was grateful for the advice regarding CO2, and is happy for YourRepair to handle his boiler servicing moving forward due to our knowledgeable engineer and working practice.
Client testimonial: Fantastic, local reliable service. Pleased to have dealt with YourRepair. Knowing there is someone at the end of the phone is a comfort.
