Below are some detailed case studies of emergency plumbing work we have carried out in Market Drayton:
What the problem was: Water is overflowing from the client’s toilet cistern, customer thinks it is the ball cock. Miss Callahan works in the local hospital and is due to leave for work at 9.00am, and she wanted the problem solving prior to leaving.
What we did: Each YourRepair van has a live van tracking system fitted which enables us to locate the closest engineer to the customer’s location in Market Drayton, which enables us to provide a fast, reactive response. Customer made the call to us at 8am and the engineer arrived at 8.20am. On arrival the engineer diagnosed the overflowing toilet as the ball cock as the customer thought, and confirmed that it needed replacing. The part was available on the plumber’s stocked van, and fitted. To change the valve the engineer turned off the water via the stopcock and flushed the toilet to drain the water. The valve was unscrewed from the water intake pipe and removed so that the new one could be inserted. The water was then turned back on and the valve was adjusted so that the water level came back to its original level.
Outcome: Our fast, reliable service ensured that our customer’s job responsibility wasn’t disrupted, she was able to leave on time, as the repair was carried out quickly and effectively. We accept all major credit or debit cards as a method of payment so the customer was able to pay from a pre-authorised card instead of worrying about cash or cheques on completion.
Client testimonial: So thankful to YourRepair for getting an engineer so quickly to me this morning, because of the type of work I do, I cannot get time off for issues such as this, and needed it sorting there and then. Brilliant.
What we provided: On arrival to the customer’s home the water leak was diagnosed as a faulty ball valve which needed replacing. To do this the engineer first turned off the water supply by the mains stop tap, the valve is fitted from the side entry of the tank meaning that the tank doesn’t need to be drained first. Once fitted and adjusted the water level came back to the correct level, the engineer then checked for leaks before ensuring the toilet area was cleaned and tidied up. Ms Mellor checked the engineers work, and he explained what work had been carried out, she then signed his completion form on his PDA to confirm she was happy with the work that the plumber provided.
Outcome: We have a strict overcharging policy, and our engineers are aware that overcharging on materials or labour is a serious offence. We checked the material charges against our supplier invoices, and ensured the engineer was accurate about the length of time spent on the job to ensure that the customer has been charged fairly, as we do with all emergency response plumbing jobs.
Client testimonial: Friendly staff, good communications, good workmanship. Very pleased.
