Here’s some examples of boiler repairs in Market Drayton that YourRepair have completed recently:
What the problem was:
Customer’s boiler is a Baxi Duo Tec Combi 28HE. It currently has an intermittent fault that is getting much worse. The boiler shuts down when it is on, and shows an error code E160. If the customer resets the boiler, it works again, but then will do exactly the same an hour or so later.
What we did:
The YourRepair Call Advisor booked the job on to our automated system for a YourRepair local boiler breakdown engineer that covers the Market Drayton area. This then generated an email to the client to confirm the booking, along with further information regarding YourRepair, to give the customer additional reassurance.
The heating engineer attended the property on Friday, as this was the most convenient day for the customer due to his working hours. He diagnosed the fault as a faulty fan. As the engineer had received the job description and seen the error code, he suspected this to be the problem, and was prepared with a new fan assembly. He installed the new part and tested the boiler. As the repair involved breaking the gas line, the HE boiler required checking via a flue gas analyser. Further to these checks, a Gas Safety Certificate was issued.
The intermittent fault was repaired, however due to the fault being intermittent, the customer was issued with instructions as to what to do, should any further problems arise.
Quick service. Great Service. I knew exactly what I was going to pay. Both the office staff and the plumber were very helpful.
What the problem was:This boiler breakdown is an old Glow Worm Fuelsaver 50b, the boiler is situated in the customer’s kitchen, with a horizontal flue. Considering the age of the boiler, the customer hasn’t had to many problems with the boiler, however yesterday the pilot light on the boiler went out, and won’t come back on. The customer now only has hot water through the emersion heater, but they don’t have any central heating at all.
What we provided:
One of our more senior engineers was sent out to this boiler breakdown, as this is a particularly old boiler, and this particular engineer has been a heating engineer for over 40 years, and is familiar with a wide range of boiler makes and models of all ages. He checked the thermocouple, which was working correctly, the pilot burner was also OK, as was the overheat interrupter device. The fault was narrowed down to a faulty gas valve. The part was ordered from a local supplier, and then the engineer returned the following day, convenient to the customer, to fit the part, and complete the repair.
This is an unusual fault for this particular boiler, and it took an experienced engineer to be able to diagnose this problem. Less experienced plumbers would of gone through a process of elimination, which would have been more expensive for the customer.
Problem solved. This heating engineer quite clearly knew exactly what he was doing.
