What the problem was:
A landlord of a property in Alsager required new taps supplied and fitted to the kitchen sink, downstairs WC hand basin, bath and bathroom sink, as he had new tenants moving in, and the taps were all fairly old, and some were ineffective.
What we did:
We regularly work with landlords with properties ranging from 1 to 5000 plus property portfolio’s, so we are experienced in handling enquiries of this nature.
The booking was taken with the landlord and confirmed, and then the job booked into the engineers diary directly with the tenant. The landlord was kept informed of the job, and when completed, a full description of work was sent along with a VAT invoice for their accounting purposes.
Prior to the appointment the engineer collected the taps from the suppliers, and confirmed costs of the materials with the landlord prior to purchasing. The water supply was turned off, as the taps didn’t have isolating valves, the system was drained. The engineer firstly changed the kitchen mixer tap. The tap was very old, and had seized up, so the engineer had to remove it using pipe cutters. The new tap was fitted using push fit connectors, the engineer used a connector with an isolating valve for any future maintenance. All other taps were straightforward swaps, and they were all installed quickly and efficiently. All taps were checked to ensure there were no leaks.
The taps were fitted at the property the following day of booking, as the landlord was on a tight schedule due to new tenants moving in. The landlord was kept informed of job progress and costs. The landlord was able to pay over the phone on a credit card as he was not local to the property.
A great service for landlords, I could of done with finding them sooner.
What the problem was:
Customer called us because she had a leak on a pipe in the airing cupboard and she was concerned about water getting into the electrics in the airing cupboard.
What we provided
As we have a number of qualified and experienced plumbing and heating engineers working in and around Alsager, we were able to dispatch an engineer to the location the same day, by using our tracking software to locate our closest engineer. On arrival the engineer diagnosed the leak as a problem with the Megaflo cold water combination valve, and the engineer advised the customer that it needed replacing.
The part was in stock with a local supplier, so the engineer collected the part, to complete the repair there and then.
As the combination valve was situated above the cylinder, there was no requirement to drain down the whole system, it was a matter of turning off the mains inlet and turning on a hot water tap to release the pressure. The engineer then proceeded to replace the part, the valve was then turned back on, and the hot water tap turned off.
The engineer checked for any leaks on the part, before tidying up his working area, and completing the job. We usually send out invoices via email, automatically, after the job had been completed. However, the customer had requested that she receive a hard copy of her invoice, as she was not computer literate, so our after sales customer service team, also posted her a copy of the invoice.Outcome:
The cost of the part was confirmed to the customer before proceeding the complete the repair. Engineer kept the customer fully informed before during and after the work was completed, and he left he left his working area tidy, including vacuuming the area, before he left.Client testimonial:
I was informed of costs upfront, which I liked. The plumber also talked me through everything he did, and seemed very knowledgeable. Thank you also to the lady who booked me in, she was more than helpful.
